Weather will be hotter than Tenerife and Ibiza

Weather experts expect thermometers to soar past April 4's 23.7C to a new high of 27C.

The warm-up starts this weekend as runners face 22C conditions in the London Marathon tomorrow.

By Tuesday the city could see highs of 24C, potentially topped by parts of the South reaching 27C.

The warmest days of the week are set to be Wednesday and Thursday with 27C expected "quite widely", most likely in Berkshire, Hampshire and potentially Kent and East Anglia.

Spell

By contrast the Canaries holiday hotspot of Tenerife is likely to peak at 19C while Med isle Ibiza is tipped to top out at 21C on Wednesday.
