Summer love-in, having a blast as Gogic says Buddies' double-digits business working a treat

ALEX GOGIC never feared that his new Buddies would bed in at St Mirren.

That is because the Cypriot had total trust in Stephen Robinson and his recruitment team amid a summer of change.

Eleven new boys were brought into the Saints camp during the window, while Killian Phillips and Roland Idowu turned loans into permanent switches

But they've quickly clicked and Goga’s new boys at the back, Miguel Freckleton and Richard King, are strolling it.

Gogic took the two young centre-backs under his wing as Saints secured a big clean sheet against Dundee.

Killian Phillips cracked in his fifth goal of the season in 39 minutes and Saints managed the game well to expertly shut down the Dark Blues’ threat.

Freckleton, 22, and King, 23, are smooth operators who have fitted in seamlessly since moving from Sheffield United and Cavalier in Jamaica respectively.

And Gogic said: “Our gaffer knows exactly what he wants.

“His recruitment staff know that all the players they bring in are willing to learn and to adapt.

“He's got a core at the club, a group of us who have been with him here.

“We help him out trying to explain to the boys what it takes at St Mirren.

“If you're a newcomer, you are not just listening to the gaffer - you'll hear from us as well. We're all buying into it.
