But is mocked over absence of a plan in car-crash interview
Down time... John Swinney at conference yesterday
JOHN Swinney has been mocked over his “top-secret” Scottish independence plan, amid claims that it doesn’t even exist.
The First Minister was adamant that if the SNP wins a majority he will be able to persuade the Prime Minister that he should be allowed to have a second referendum.
He took part in a media round on Sunday morning where he refused to come clean about the proposals he had promised delegates on Saturday.
He very easily won a crucial vote on his Scexit strategy, with a majority of SNP MSPs equalling Scottish independence according to him.
Closing the debate, Mr Swinney said: “I am totally and utterly devoted to winning Scottish independence. Nobody knows the tactics I’m going to deploy if we get 65 seats in the next election.”
He was grilled on this top-secret plan on BBC’s Sunday Show where he suffered a car-crash interview as he failed to expand on the claim he made publicly. And was asked if he knew himself what “tactics” he would employ next year if he wins a majority at the Holyrood Election.
