SCRUTINY of Nicola Sturgeon and John Swinney’s actions during the coronavirus pandemic will finally be published today.

- BY DAVID WALKER Scottish Politics Reporter

The UK Covid-19 Inquiry sat in Edinburgh for three weeks in January 2024, with the former First Minister driven to tears by questioning by lawyers and Baroness Hallett.

She was forced to deny that she attempted to use the pandemic to further the case for breaking up the UK = even though this was discussed by her Cabinet.

And she was slated for deleting all of her informal correspondence relating to how she made decisions about restrictions and public health.

RESTRICTIONS

Scotland differed from England when it came to some restrictions, including the former First Minister locking down the country during the festive period in 2021 and Hogmanay 2022 when the UK Government had barely any restrictions.
