Street closed amid claims of shots fired in gang war

ARMED police sealed off a street yesterday afternoon following reports of shots fired at a property in Scotland’s capital city.

It is believed to be the latest incident in a gang war which has engulfed the country in recent months.

Reports claim the house targeted in Edinburgh has links to a man horrifically slashed by rivals after they tracked him down in Thailand.

The victim, is believed to be an associate of a drugs kingpin in the city suspected of using fake notes to “pay” for a £500k cocaine stash.

The thief is connected to jailed Mark Richardson, 38, and it was this brazen show of “disrespect” which sparked the feud.

The cocaine is said to have been owned by a gangster called Ross ‘Miami’ McGill, who is originally from Glasgow but has since relocated to Dubai.

Police believe it is the 31-year-old who has been orchestrating the string of firebombings, drive-by shootings and machete attacks in response to his loss of face.

Yesterday’s suspected shooting occurred on Walter Scott Avenue in the capital’s Gilmerton district.
