Starmer's lost control of borders say Tories after damning poll
Scottish Daily Express
|August 26, 2025
SIR Keir Starmer was accused of presiding over a “full-blown immigration crisis” after damning new polling.
The Tories said the British public can “clearly see” that the Prime Minister has “lost control of our borders”.
It comes as a YouGov survey found that 71% said Sir Keir is handling migrant hotels badly, including 56% of Labour voters. Almost four in 10 people said that immigration and asylum are the most pressing issues.
Shadow Home Secretary Chris Philp said: “The British public can see Keir Starmer has lost control of our borders. We now have a full-blown immigration crisis thanks to Labour.
“They have caused the worst Channel crossing numbers this year, the highest asylum claims and more illegal immigrants in hotels than at the election.
