So much to learn from our wartime lionhearts

EIGHT decades may have passed but for those who witnessed, and lived through, the abject horrors of the Second World War the passage of time has not dimmed their memories.

For six unimaginably bleak years Britain was on her knees and the world in great peril as the claws of fascism and tyranny permeated across Europe.

But the fearless men and women who answered the call to stand up and serve, both here and abroad, did not flinch and, against the greatest of odds, secured the freedoms we all cherish and hold dear.

Today the words of wartime Prime Minister Winston Churchill will reverberate across the UK as the nation rightly remembers the sacrifice, service, and selflessness of the greatest generation, a unique band of brothers and sisters whose number shrinks with each passing year.
