No huff if Schmeichel gets Hampden nod

VILJAMI SINISALO isn’t sure if he'll be able to keep Kasper Schmeichel at bay until the Scottish Cup final.

But Celtic’s stand-in stopper has shown he is more than capable of doing the business if he does retain the gloves ahead of the injured Denmark legend.

Sinisalo savoured his first Old Firm derby with a solid display in Sunday’s 1-1 draw against Rangers at Ibrox to continue an impressive run for the Finn.

The 23-year-old has proved a safe pair of hands in Celtic’s last six games and Brendan Rodgers has said he’d have no qualms pitching him in if Schmeichel falls short in his race to be fit for Hampden.

The great Dane has returned to training after suffering a shoulder injury on international duty last month.

With Schmeichel hoping to be back for the potential treble-clinching showdown with Aberdeen on May 24, Sinisalo admits there’s every chance he might have to make way.

But he’s ready and able to keep doing the job in the meantime and feels he has what it takes to be the 38-year-old veteran's long-term successor.
