Sick online warning to gangland mourners

Scottish Daily Express

|

July 03, 2025

A SICK online message has warned that mourners at the funerals of murdered gangsters Ross Monaghan and Eddie Lyons Jr will be targeted for reprisals.

- By Ben Borland

The sinister warning blames Dubai-based mobster Ross McGill for the gangland feud that has broken out between rival criminal factions.

It began earlier this year when associates of jailed Edinburgh drugs kingpin Mark Richardson ‘ripped off’ McGill over a £500,000 cocaine deal. McGill is linked to the Lyons crime family and Richardson is allied to their north Glasgow rivals, the Daniels.

Police Scotland do not believe the gun murders of Monaghan and Lyons Jr in a bar in Fuengirola last month are connected to the feud, although Spanish detectives have suggested there IS a direct link.

A man from Liverpool has been arrested and is fighting extradition to Spain.
