SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER has revealed he gets calls and texts of congratulations from Donald Trump when he wins golf events.
And the world No.1 predicted Team USA will “hear from him this week" if they are winning when he appears at the opening day of the Ryder Cup on Friday.
Xander Schauffele yesterday claimed "gladiator golfer” Bryson DeChambeau can inspire the American side this week.
But the biggest star of the biggest show in golf is set to be the US President - and Scheffler is delighted Trump will be the supporter-in-chief.
“Our team as a whole, we're very proud to be Americans,” said the Open champion. "The flag means a lot to us. Being here in New York is very special as well.
