Royal club's £300k bill for losing 'cheat' case

A GOLF club sued by a member who was kicked out and accused of cheating faces a £300,000 court bill after she won her case.
Rina Rohilla had her Royal Mid-Surrey Golf Club membership terminated after she was accused of altering her scorecard.
She said she was unfairly barred as she was "unpopular" with some members of a club clique, "chief amongst them" being ladies' vice-captain Beverley Mayes.
After a trial at Central London County Court, Judge Andrew Holmes said there had been "clear bias", with a "clear desire to secure her expulsion", and he ordered her reinstatement.
