JOE WRIGHT reckons Rory McKenzie has been the calming influence through Kilmarnock's rocky season - even though Saturday was his first league start.
McKenzie, in his 15th campaign with the club, had played just 41 minutes since Christmas, but was superb as Killie returned to winning days-2-0 against Motherwell - to go ninth.
The 31-year-old, above, kept it cool, composed and simple in the middle of the park and didn't waste a ball - in exactly what Killie needed after last weekend's 5-1 hammering at St Mirren.
McKenzie pinching possession from Andy Halliday started the attack that led to Fraser Murray's 22nd-minute opener.
And centre-half Wright's second-half header put the game beyond 10-man Well - with Kofi Balmer sent off for a challenge on Murray.
