Call for former FM to give evidence at inquiry
NICOLA Sturgeon should be called to give evidence to the inquiry probing a string of deaths at two Scottish hospitals, it was claimed last night.
The dramatic move came after it was alleged the former First Minister put pressure on health chiefs to open Glasgow’s £842million Queen Elizabeth University Hospital (QEUH) in April 2015 despite it not being ready.
The facility has been plagued by issues. Bosses at NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) finally admitted a probable link between dirty water and the deaths of child cancer patients. At least 84 people fell ill after catching infections and several died.
