Young people are ruining their hearing because of exposure to loud music, says a new study.

Research, from RNID - the charity for those who are deaf, have hearing loss, or tinnitus - shows 58% of Gen Z (aged 18 to 28) have experienced hearing loss, tinnitus or both after listening to music.
This is despite three-quarters (75%) saying they believe there is a risk of hearing damage when exposed to loud noise, and 76% saying there is a risk at gigs. For most, these effects are initially temporary, but long-term they can risk becoming permanent.
