Pressure on Khan over gangs 'silence'
Scottish Daily Express
|September 15, 2025
SADIQ Khan faces calls to quit after a whistleblower accused him of refusing to face up to “industrial scale” grooming gangs as Mayor of London.
Decorated former Metropolitan Police detective Jon Wedger claimed organised sexual exploitation of children has been rife in the city for 20 years on a level far beyond that uncovered in towns such as Rochdale and Rotherham.
But he said his efforts to highlight his findings were blocked by police chiefs and council officials.
He told how Labour's Sir Sadiq dodged questions on the topic nine times.

He said: "[Sadiq Khan] is a threat to the safety of vulnerable young children of every ethnicity and class.
"He's dangerous [and] is the donkey leading the lions when it comes to child abuse."
Reform UK MP Lee Anderson said it was time for "Sadiq Khan to either step down or be removed from office".
Shadow Home Secretary Chris Philp accused Sir Sadiq of "facilitating a cover-up" — an allegation the mayor strenuously denied.
