PM visits Scotland amid reports of Labour coup

LABOUR launched a major Scottish charm offensive yesterday amid reports of a coup plot among the party's MPs north of the Border.

Sir Keir Starmer visited RAF Lossiemouth in Moray to announce funding for Christmas return leave for thousands of military families.

Alongside his Norwegian counterpart Jonas Store, the Prime Minister also hailed a new North Atlantic defence agreement to combat growing Russian aggression.

Meanwhile, Chancellor Rachel Reeves visited Inchgreen Marine Park in Greenock to highlight the industrial investments made in Scotland at the Budget.

Later, Sir Keir flew to Glasgow for a visit to a community centre with his Scottish leader Anas Sarwar.

But the 'lovebombing' may not quell the growing dissent among the Scottish Labour parliamentarians.

Reports claim the Prime Minister may face a leadership challenge early next year from Scottish MPs who fear the party will be "slaughtered" in the Holyrood elections.

One MP told The Times said: "The situation is untenable.
