Passengers ‘must assume 100ml liquids rule applies’

Confusion as Edinburgh allows two-litre containers in bags

AIR passengers face confusion this summer over the 100ml liquids rule after two airports said up to two litres can now be carried through security.

But UK Transport Secretary Heidi Alexander said people should assume the limit remains in place unless they have been told otherwise.

It comes after Edinburgh and Birmingham airports installed scanners that allow passengers to keep liquids in their bags when they are screened by security staff.
