AIDAN O'BRIEN mopped up two more Group One races as Puerto Rico and Pierre Bonnard scored at Saint-Cloud - and leapt to the top of the betting for next year’s Classics.
Puerto Rico made all the running under Christophe Soumillon to land the Critérium International over a mile and take over from stable-companion Albert Einstein as the 8-1 favourite for the 2,000 Guineas at Newmarket next May.
“We wanted to see how comfortable he would be over a mile today,” said O’Brien, whose son of Wootton Bassett is as short as 12-1 for the 2026 Derby.
