Hollyoaks actress Ruby O'Donnell warns of explosive scenes ahead as the soap celebrates its 30th anniversary

Il hell will break loose in Hollyoaks as the Channel 4 soap celebrates 30 years on screens this October.

Actress Ruby O'Donnell, who plays Peri Lomax, teases the drama to come. "Everyone's involved in the anniversary," she reveals. "Peri and Tom are involved. Everyone in the village is at risk and nobody is safe."

A special crossover episode of Hollyoaks and Brookside - which ran for 21 years until 2003 - to celebrate their shared creator, Sir Phil Redmond, will raise the stakes even higher. Sue Johnston, Ricky Tomlinson, John McArdle, Paul Usher, Suzanne Collins and Philip Olivier are some of the former Brookside stars confirmed for the one-off special.

But Ruby, 24, remains tight-lipped. "There is so much going on in the anniversary," she hints. "Lots of different people are trying to get involved in Peri and Tom's relationship."

Tom Cunningham, played by Ellis Hollis, is reintegrating into the village after a stint in prison. Recently, he's focused on mending his relationship with Peri, the mother of his daughter Steph, born when the pair were teens.
