Newsreader in trans row ‘broke rules’

A BBC newsreader who went viral for making a face while changing the phrase “pregnant people” to “women” broke the broadcaster's impartiality rules, it has ruled.
Complaints from 20 viewers were upheld on the basis that Martine Croxall, 56, “expressed a controversial view about trans people’ on the live show on the BBC News Channel in June.
