Netanyahu puts forward Trump for peace prize

DONALD Trump has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
The Israel leader handed the US President a copy of the letter he sent to the Nobel Committee as the pair negotiated at the White House this week. They sat down with their top aides for a dinner to discuss efforts to push forward with a 60-day ceasefire proposal to pause the 21-month conflict in Gaza.
As he presented Mr Trump with the letter, Mr Netanyahu said: “He’s forging peace as we speak, one country and one region after the other.”
The call for the prize comes after the Israeli leader had pressed President Trump and his predecessor Joe Biden to take military action against Iran’s nuclear scheme.
