Nature at risk from Reeves cuts

RACHEL Reeves risks threatening rare nature and wildlife on the UK’s overseas territories by axing the only fund that protects them, environmentalists have warned.

Britain previously committed £10million a year to the Darwin Plus scheme, which conserves nature in places like the Falkland Islands and South Georgia.

But the RSPB bird and wildlife charity says the cash has been suspended and next month’s Spending Review by the Chancellor will decide if it continues.
