National library apologises for book ban

SCOTLAND'S national library was forced into an apology over its ban on a gender critical book chosen to be a part of a celebratory exhibition.

The National Library of Scotland had banned The Women Who Wouldn't Wheesht

The taxpayer-funded institution said sorry to the two authors snubbed through blocking the book after demands from trans activist staff.

National Library of Scotland chairman Sir Drummond Bone said

it had been wrong of the organisation to refuse to include The Women Who Wouldn’t Wheesht in its Dear Library exhibition in September despite being voted in by readers.

It is an account of feminist campaigners who railed against Nicola Sturgeon’s self-ID.

When reported, it led to a public outcry and forced the institution into an embarrassing U-turn.
