FROM THE HEART
-
YOU know a story has taken flight when my friend, colleague and fellow Express columnist Nick Ferrari devotes an hour of his flagship radio show to dissecting it.
On Friday, his callers were bristling with passionate and indignant reactions to Karen Millen’s comments on my TV show about breastfeeding a three-year-old.
It’s true, fashion designer Millen was barbed. She declared breastfeeding a child of that age was unnecessary and indicated “selfishness” on the mother’s part. The next morning, she thought better of it and contacted us to say she was keen to apologise. We played her contrite video on air, in which she said a heartfelt sorry to anyone she had offended.
