SACKED Russell Martin was bundled out the Ibrox exit last night - hours after being forced to escape another furious fan protest by sneaking out a side door at Falkirk.

- ANDY NEWPORT

The besieged boss was given a police escort away from the ground in the wake of his team's latest slip-up, with the 1-1 draw at John McGlynn's brave Bairns proving the final straw for the club's American owners.

The 39-year-old becomes the club's shortest-serving manager, lasting just 122 days after arriving on a three-year contract.

The club said in a statement: "Rangers Football Club confirms that it has parted company with head coach Russell Martin.

"While all transition periods require some time, results have not met the club's expectations.

"Assistant head coach Matt Gill and first-team coach Mike Williamson will also be departing.

"Russell and his staff have worked exceptionally hard throughout their time at the club.
