Man on hot-tub murder rap claimed lover knifed herself

A CANADIAN accused of murdering his girlfriend has told jurors he went into shock after seeing his lover repeatedly stab herself with a knife.
Couple... Claire Leveque and Pearson
Aren Pearson, 41, is on trial charged with killing Claire Leveque, 24, at his mother’s home in Shetland.
Yesterday, Pearson went into the witness box Edinburgh High Court, where he claimed that fellow Canadian Ms Leveque had been drinking whisky in the hours before the fatal incident.
Pearson said she had heard him speaking to her father Clint Leveque in Canada about how much alcohol his daughter had been consuming.
He said her drinking was causing him problems in his life and he wanted to send her back to her father in Winnipeg.
