Gers have wind in sails as they defy brutal conditions to blow away struggling Dons
-
GORETTI had battered the north east but it was Rangers who blew Aberdeen away to storm back into second place.
Thelo Aasgaard's goal and a James Tavernier penalty were enough to sweep the Dons away for a second time in six days.
Not surprisingly people have started to talk about Danny Rohl's side as potential title chasers. They've had five wins on the bounce in the league and it will take something to blow them off course.
They sit three points behind leaders Hearts and three in front of Celtic, although both rivals have a game in hand.
It was another defeat for Aberdeen after the 2-0 loss at Ibrox on Tuesday.
Interim manager Peter Leven is holding the fort but the Dons will ramp up their search for a full-time boss this week. There were improvements but Aberdeen know they now need to win at home against Raith Rovers as they look to defend the Scottish Cup.
Rangers can park the league and look forward to Annan Athletic on Friday night.
BLOW FOOTBALL
The weather had savaged the north east of Scotland since the turn of the year.
The area had been covered with snow and ice and that had been semi cleared by Storm Goretti, which battered the area in the build-up to this game.
It was a joke this one was on, with the Amber weather warnings and fans being asked to travel in those conditions, as was the reverse when Dons fans were asked to travel to Falkirk and Ibrox. When there are Amber travel warnings and above the games should be off.
There would have been enormous pressure to get this game on because it was live on Sky Sports.
