Big win keeps hopes alive

ENGLAND'S Lionesses roared themselves back to life in the Euros thanks to a little help from their friends.

Messages from former Lionesses including Jill Scott and Toni Duggan helped remind defending champions England of the task at hand before they crushed the Netherlands.

Defeat against France meant anything less than victory in their second group game would have left the Lionesses’ fate out of their hands.

But a Lauren James double and goals from Georgia Stanway and Ella Toone has put England back in control of their own destiny.

A win over Wales on Sunday will confirm England’s progression to the quarterfinals — and ensure last week’s defeat by France is forgotten.
