SCOTLAND assistant coach Pete Horne has hailed the “awesome” achievement of the national football team in qualifying for the World Cup.
And after Sunday's home defeat by Argentina ended in the team being booed off the pitch, he admits the squad are itching to take a big scalp again like Steve Clarke's squad did.
Scotland take on Tonga at Murrayfield on Sunday in a game they are expected to win easily. The squad have been together all month at Oriam outside Edinburgh, and on Tuesday they all watched the Denmark decider.
Horne said: “The coaches planned training and got through a fair bit of stuff so that we could watch the game. We missed the first half an hour and then tuned in after that.
“We saw the overhead kick on replay. To be fair, there was a screen just outside where we were meeting, so we all kind of had eyes on that. It was class.
