Late winner shows Gunners have mettle for title this term
Scottish Daily Express
|September 29, 2025
MIKEL ARTETA celebrated this victory as though Arsenal had just won the Premier League title.
And this will give Gunners the belief that they might just, finally, do it this year.
It was a statement victory not just because of the result but also how they showed incredible character to fight until the end.
They simply refused to give up. This was about guts, mentality and sending out a message to title favourites Liverpool.
Arteta's men did all three at St James's Park as they fought back to win it in dramatic style after Newcastle's £69million striker Nick Woltemade's opener.
