Five things you need to know about the switch

By January 2027, the decades-old analogue phone network, which is failing, will be history. Say hello to digital landlines that use your internet connection for a smoother, more reliable service.

More than three million BT customers have already made the switch – is your household next?

BT has teamed up with broadcasting legend Moira Stuart to spread the word and ensure everyone’s ready for the digital landline switchover. Here are five things you need to know:

1. Extra support is available

If you have additional needs, BT’s got you covered with extra help available. An engineer will visit to switch you to Digital Voice and there’s battery backup during a power cut - both for free.
