King talks shop with food firms beating waste
Scottish Daily Express
|November 20, 2025
KING Charles helped celebrate the second anniversary of a scheme which he inspired, using leftovers to reduce hunger and waste.
He praised the Coronation Food Project during a visit to landmark grocer Fortnum & Mason in London's Piccadilly.
But he warned supporters, charities and business leaders there is still “more to do”.
The initiative brings together major food producers and retailers and has redistributed almost 5,000 tons of surplus food to communities - the equivalent of 11 million meals.
