Jenrick: I probably would ban the burka in Britain

ROBERT Jenrick has said he would “probably” outlaw burkas in public because there are “basic values in this country and we should stand up and defend them”.

The Shadow Justice Secretary’s comments put him at odds with Conservative Party leader Kemi Badenoch, who has insisted she would not ban the garment.
Speaking during a Talk Radio phone-in, Mr Jenrick highlighted how Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni had proposed a ban on wearing a burka in public places.
The Conservative blasted: “There are basic values in this country, and we should stand up and defend them.
