First Italian to win title as the dream becomes reality at Wimbledon
JANNIK SINNER said he was "living my dream" after becoming the first Italian to win a Wimbledon singles title.
The world No.1 took revenge on Carlos Alcaraz for a French Open defeat to inflict a first Grand Slam final defeat on a stunned reigning champion yesterday.
It also ended a five-match losing streak against the Spaniard as Sinner won 4-6 6-4 6-4 6-4.
He then climbed into the Centre Court stands to embrace parents Hanspeter and Siglinde and brother Mark.
The 23-yearold, who banked £3million, said: "It is really a dream come true. Actually a special thank you to my brother because there is no Formula One race this weekend, and that's why he's here!
