Schwolow lifts the lid on unique glove rivalry with Gordon
ALEXANDER SCHWOLOW feels he is in a “special” situation fighting it out with Craig Gordon for the Hearts gloves.
The German started 16 consecutive fixtures after joining on August 31, his run broken by a red card at Dundee on January 11 that saw Gordon promoted from the bench, with the 43-year-old Scotland international going on to make a further two appearances last month.
Schwolow, however, was recalled for last weekend's game at Dundee United, keeping a clean sheet in his side’s 3-0 win, and is likely to get the nod again for tonight's visit to St Mirren.
And the 33-year-old knows Jambos manager Derek McInnes faces a tough call having to decide between two top-quality keepers.
Schwolow said: “This situation is a little bit special. Like you say, I think were both great goalkeepers. Craigy is also a club legend, so it makes it a little bit special.
“We both try to stay professional and I think it's a positive pressure for both of us.
