Islanders 'betrayed' over latest ferry delay

ISLANDERS have been "betrayed" by the Scottish Government, critics have claimed, after it was announced the delivery of the much-delayed ferry has been put back again.
The mv Glen Rosa will not now arrive until late next year.
It had been hoped the vessel would be delivered to ferry operator CalMac in the second quarter of 2026. But a deterioration in her hull coating and corrosion in the stern tubes discovered during a period of dry-docking in August has led to the latest delay.
According to shipbuilders Ferguson Marine, the ferry will require another period in dry-dock, meaning the earliest available slot is "later in 2026".
