THANKS to Donald Trump’s shock tariffs global markets have now gone into a tailspin, with the US hit particularly hard.
The benchmark US S&P 500 index has plunged more than 12% so far this year, the US technology focus Nasdaq even more since the president’s announcements.
While the FTSE 100 has also taken a hit it has fared much better, and remains roughly at the same level it started in 2025.
