King makes a scene with star at film college

THE King has hailed Hollywood star Sir Idris Elba as a “real inspiration”...but laughed off his offer to star in front of the cameras.

Charles and Camilla toured a college film studio named in honour of the celebrity, who trained to be an actor at the institution more than 30 years ago.

The royal couple visited Barking & Dagenham College in East London yesterday with Charles turning director, saying “action!” and snapping shut a clapperboard.

Sir Idris attended the technical sixth form after winning a place at the National Youth Music Theatre with the help of the King’s Trust, then named the Prince’s Trust.

The Luther star credits the grant as being a pivotal moment in his acting career.
