Hoops hero would love repeat of last season's fairytale Hampden winner
IT’S one of the most iconic goals in Celtic’s recent history.
A last-gasp Scottish Cup winner over their greatest rivals to clinch the double. An explosion of colour and noise in the green and white end of Hampden. Bragging rights secured for the summer.
It’s little wonder Adam Idah has watched his heroics on repeat over the past 12 months.
The Irishman saved the Hoops’ season in the first half of 2024 with some crucial goals after his initial loan switch from Norwich City.
But downing Rangers with the only goal at the national stadium in the most dramatic circumstances will probably never be topped.
Now the £9million striker is dreaming of more cup glory as he targets a treble-clinching victory over Aberdeen on Saturday.
Idah said: “Yes, it was a special moment for me. It was great to get the winner. It was my last game for the club when I was on loan, so it was a proud moment for me.
“It’s exciting to go back there and hopefully we can win it again. It’s something you don’t even dream of. The last minute. It’s one of those things that’s so amazing it’s hard to take it in.
“It took me a while to realise what I’d done. I’ve watched the video so many times. It was an unbelievable feeling to do that against them in that manner. It was amazing.
“How often do people remind me of it? Quite a bit, to be fair. A lot.
