I have belly pain & don't want to eat
WILFRIED NANCY'S mum was a bit worried when she saw her lad looking a little weary after a whirlwind weekend.
The new Celtic boss had a decent excuse for feeling jaded after jetting in from the United States and straight on to the training pitch before going into battle with Hearts.
But there was another reason Nancy might have needed the Night Nurse over recent days.
And it puts to bed any idea the Frenchman is some kind of happy clapper who doesn't mind whether his side wins or loses.
Nancy admitted after the game he was more concerned about performances than results but the message got jumbled up in the wash a tad. Some fans leapt on the line but the reality could not be further from the truth.
Nancy wants performances because that's what he believes will deliver results in the long term. And if they don't - he'll be facing a long night starting at the ceiling.
The Hoops gaffer said: "My mum told me I have bags under my eyes! I told her I just came in, had jet lag and was trying to anticipate everything!
"This is part of our job. I'm excited by it and I try to stay at peace with myself and open my eyes to understand the culture and understand what is the context.
"After that I am going to do what I was used to doing, with the way I want to play, because this is a lifestyle."
As for winning and losing, he wanted to get something straight. Nancy said: "I understand. I can not control the winning part or the losing part. Listen, I want to win.
