A CUSTOMISED powered wheelchair has been a “game-changer” for Logan Denyer, 13, giving him crucial independence and confidence.

- BY HANNA GEISSLER Health Editor

The teenager was given the chair by Whizz Kidz — the charity backed by this year's Express Christmas appeal — which is facing overwhelming demand.

Logan, who was kitted out six years ago, said, “I have cerebral palsy, which means you can't walk. Whizz Kidz are nice. Every time I go there, they set my chair up how I ask them to.

“It's easier, rather than having to move my wheels, which hurts my arms a bit. All I do is that [push the joystick] and I move.” His mum Charlotte, 39, added: “His independence has skyrocketed. He's just off — and we don't see him when he's in his powered chair.”

Logan, of Camberley, Surrey, uses the chair at school and worked the stage in it while starring in a production of High School Musical.
