Hear's a common trigger for trouble in couples...

COUPLES over 55 say “What?” more often than “I love you”, research suggests, sparking rows over simple misunderstandings.

Nearly half (46%) said they had fallen out with their partners as a result of not hearing them properly — or not being heard.

And 28% said they got into arguments on a weekly basis, because of mishearing things.

This leads to feelings of frustration (42%), being ignored (33%), and, for an unfortunate 11%, the idea that they are unloved.

One in three of the 2,000 people polled, said they were misunderstood by their significant other several times a week.
