THE traditional three-course dinner party is now off the menu for some hosts — who are turning to grazing boards, build-your-own desserts and carefully curated drinks.

And many now believe that their set-up and decorations are just as important as the dishes they serve.

Grazing boards are now used by 27%, while one in 10 like to include fun “interactive elements” such as build-your-own puddings.

And 10% make a point of using sustainable products so guests can dine with a clear conscience, according to poll of 1,000 adults who have hosted a dinner party.

A quarter ensure their set-up is picture perfect, specifically so it looks good on social media, the survey found.
