TALENTED teenager Vera Cree has landed a first-class honours degree in information systems at just 14 years old.

- By Isobel Williams

Graduate aged 14

At an age when most teens are just starting their GCSE courses, Vera is already a Bachelor of Science - with her sights set on a PhD at Oxford University.

Her parents James and Deborah said they knew their daughter was special when she was about three years old.

At the time the family lived in Indianapolis, US, where Vera’s teachers spotted her ability and started her on advanced courses from the age of eight.

But even the high-ability curriculum for science, maths and quantitative reasoning was not enough to keep Vera occupied, and she took on several college classes too.

Having excelled at college level, Vera had offers from several universities when the family returned to the UK in 2023 to be near her grandad.
