JIM GOODWIN confirmed Dundee United were on the trail of Pierre Landry Kabore before Hearts swept in and blew them out the water.
United head of recruitment Ross Goodwin flagged up the Burkina Faso international, below, who scored twice against Dundee last week, when he was starring for Estonian side Narva Trans.
United held talks with Kabore's representatives but had to admit defeat when the Jambos came to the table with much more financial muscle.
Manager Jim Goodwin said: "I'm pretty sure there would have been a number of teams looking at him.
