Girl and two boys charged with murder after man, 49, 'beaten to death' at seaside

THREE youths have appeared in court charged with murder after a man was attacked in front of beachgoers.

Alexander Cashford, 49, from Kent, died with “multiple injuries” at the scene at Leysdown-on-Sea, on the Isle of Sheppey, on Sunday evening.

He had previously been convicted of stalking a woman, according to reports.

Two boys aged 14 and 15 and a 16-year-old girl, all from the London area, appeared at Medway magistrates' court yesterday.

The three, who cannot be named, were remanded into youth detention. They were due at Maidstone Crown Court today.

Yesterday, the 16-year-old and 14-year old cried during the hearing. The 15-year-old looked at the floor, rocking slightly.
