Former footballer jailed for mowing down pensioner

A FOOTBALLER who ploughed into a grandmother on an e-bike leaving her in a coma has been jailed for more than two years.
Kian Monks, 21, was captured on CCTV smashing into Margaret Scaldwell as she crossed a road in Wigan.
The ex-Wigan Athletic youth player, then aged 19, hit speeds of 40mph in a 30mph zone on the off-road Talaria Sting e-bike which had its speed limiter disconnected.
