DOOHAN THRILLED TO CUT TURKEY HOLIDAY SHORT

SCOTLAND new boy Ross Doohan really has been living the dream.
Still revelling in Aberdeen’s Scottish Cup win over Celtic, the goalkeeper made his international debut and kept a clean sheet in the 4-0 friendly win in Liechtenstein on Monday.
It capped off a whirlwind few days for the 27-year-old, who had been on holiday in Turkey when he answered national manager Steve Clarke's SOS.
Doohan, who is poised to swap the Dons for the Hoops this month as a free agent, missed the first phone call because he was in his bed but was eventually roused at 1.20am as Clarke scrambled to find a fit and available No.1.
“I was on holiday with my family in Turkey when I got the call,” said Doohan. “It was Friday night UK time, but it was Saturday morning in Turkey.
“I was in my bed. Mark Leslie [SFA’s sports science and data manager] called me. I answered it and got asked about the call-up.
“I jumped at the chance and then got a flight straight away and met up with the squad. It really has been a whirlwind few days.”
Doohan had played for his country at every level up to Under-21s and was pleased to complete the set, even though it was in unusual circumstances.
