'Dave tribute gives people chance to deal with own grief'

Hairy Biker's widow on charity ride

THE widow of Hairy Biker Dave Myers says an annual motorcycle ride in his honour has become “more than just a tribute” to fans.

Liliana Myers, said the Dave Day event — which took place for the second time on Saturday — helps people work through their grief and make new friends.

Around 40,000 bikers rode in a convoy from London to the TV chef’s home town of Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria, at the weekend in memory of the 66-year-old, who died following a battle with cancer in February 2024.

Myers was one half of the motorcycleriding cooking duo, the Hairy Bikers.

His co-presenter and best friend Si King attended the event at the weekend.
