Danny knows fans are sick of no-thrill ride as boss says players must overcome fear

NORMALLY a roller-coaster ride is packed with exhilaration and excitement... but the one Danny Rohl has boarded with his Rangers side is only making supporters feel queasy.

- BY SCOTT MCDERMOTT

The German boss attempted to explain his team's ropey performances in the Premiership this season.

And it's certainly been topsy-turvy, but with more downward dips than hair-raising highs so far.

After somehow steering his side to four league wins on the spin, yester day's goalless draw at home to Falkirk left fans feeling out of sorts again.

Rohl is adamant that, if he's going to get them on the straight and narrow again, this is a no-thrill ride they need to get off as soon as possible.

Rangers should have gone into the game against the Bairns confident after closing the gap on leaders Hearts and rivals Celtic in recent weeks.

Instead, they looked scared to play against John McGlynn's plucky Premiership newcomers, struggled to create any clear-cut chances and rarely looked like they'd break the deadlock.

More worrying for Rohl, though, was the lack of urgency and intensity his side showed during the 90 minutes.

There was no sign of a side with an opportunity to get back into a title race, despite a woeful start to the campaign.

They were devoid of desire - and Falkirk were worthy of their point. Rohl tried to get his head around it but was probably still in a daze.

This group of players - who were expensively assembled in the summer - are still failing to deliver.

When they offer a glimmer of promise for a few weeks, they then invariably let the manager down.
